The clock of death, or is it? We each have a clock inside of us that will one day stop working. Are we killing ourselves a little more every day? Everything that we are around, digest, inhale and see is slowly killing us. The moving parts that you see in my project join together to create a machine of self-inflicting death.
Technical:
I did have a lot of difficulties that I overcame while working on this project. When I laid the drawing out with ink on paper, I measured the distance between each moving part to make sure they would all join or connect. I did have to go back into Photoshop a couple of times to add a couple of lines or adjust something.I feel like this project has greatly improved my knowledge of AfterEffects.

assign 2
I had major problems with about everything I wanted to do with this project. I could not get parts of the background to move the way I wanted. I wish I had rendered it with sound, it helps!

Assignment1
This assignment has expanded my capabilities of using after effects by at least 10 million. We were told to use the direction of our blog and make a short motion movie from still photographs and scanned images. I decided to mostly use scanned images. I ended up making a lot of happy mistakes while fooling around with the program, trying to figure out how to work it. I am dealing with the concept of death and being somewhat worried about when i am going to go, but learning how to deal with it.
I did have quite a lot of difficulties with placing the keyframes. It took me a minute to realize the whole (choosing the space in time that you want the movement to fit in.) Once I figured that out I was pretty much good. It did take quite a while to experiment with all of the different effects, but once I figured out what a lot of them did, it was very succuessful.

The Kid Stays in the Picture
I did not get a chance to watch the documentary of how this movie was made. I did talk to a classmate about what it covered. The first semester I had at MCA I had a chance to create the same type of project, of course a lot shorter. We took still photographs and turned it into a short film. We used zoom effects, pan effects, fade effects, music, lighting effects, etc. to make the movie come to life. Having experience with this sort of thing helped me to realize how much time they must have spent making this movie. It definately takes a lot of dedication and patience.

Proposal
When I was young I had a death complex, now that I've grown
up to see how the world really is, why bother? I started thinking
about how different people, religions and cultures look at death.
My aim is to make different quotes, poetry, opinions, stories,
notes and prophecies of death come to life.
Idea 1
I invision a child being born. A new life is created. Around eight years old his grandmother passes. The child is introduced to death. As the child continues to grow the fear of death becomes a stronger reality. A death complex is created. The child continues to grow and becomes tired of hearing about death. He is introduced to the real world. Death complex slowly fades away. The child keeps growing until he is no longer a child. He soon has a child of his own. The man grows old and tired. Soon he is introduced to his deathbed. Man dies. A day later his son's wife gives birth. A new life is born.
Idea 2
Baby boy is born. 26 years later he is married and is going to have a child of his own. One night the man leaves his wife at the house so he can go get grocery's. While he is gone his wife falls down the steps and breaks her neck. Baby is not born. 10 years later man finally loves again. Man is remaried and has a new baby on the way. One night man leaves his wife at the house to go get grocery's. While leaving the store the man is robbed at gunpoint. Man dies. Two weeks later his new wife has the baby. Reincarnation pours into the blood of the new baby. Man and wife live again.

The Day After
Spirit's uneasy, as it lift's from my flesh
Ash from mass of my figure glide's from mountain
I wonder which direction my life will turn next
As my soul pours reincarnation fountain
Floating downstream, no destination despair
Maintaining serenity's obligation
Mind my molecular structure shift to thin air
Last train of thought, infinite inspiration
Transference my soul into seeds of worth
Occurence my goal, To acheive rebirth
Ash from mass of my figure glide's from mountain
I wonder which direction my life will turn next
As my soul pours reincarnation fountain
Floating downstream, no destination despair
Maintaining serenity's obligation
Mind my molecular structure shift to thin air
Last train of thought, infinite inspiration
Transference my soul into seeds of worth
Occurence my goal, To acheive rebirth
The Ocean
Return to this ocean
Your breath will thin this wind
Embark a powerful potion
Come back to us again
I search for your guidance
Along my snaky road
Presence I endeavor
On your spirit I float
Since your life was taken
I've touched your protection
Though physically forsaken
Whisper my direction
Your reflection's my sky
A missed scent is Earth's time
Emptiness filled sunni ness
The day yo climbed so high
Your breath will thin this wind
Embark a powerful potion
Come back to us again
I search for your guidance
Along my snaky road
Presence I endeavor
On your spirit I float
Since your life was taken
I've touched your protection
Though physically forsaken
Whisper my direction
Your reflection's my sky
A missed scent is Earth's time
Emptiness filled sunni ness
The day yo climbed so high
Suicide note, August 17, 1935
Human life consists in mutual service. No grief, pain, misfortune, or "broken heart," is excuse for cutting off one's life while any power of service remains, but when all usefulness is over, when one is assured of an unavoidable and intiment death, it is the simplest of human rights to choose a quick and easy death in place of a slow and horrible one.
